The Fatal Flaw

I’ve come to the conclusion
The problem isn’t with Capitalism
Democracy, Communism
Or Socialism, per se
The problem is people
People are corruptible
And power corrupts
But this is nothing new
It just took me this long to come to terms
With a truth I did not want to accept
Societies,
(regardless the political and economic model,)
Are doomed to fail solely because
We cannot remove the one fatal flaw
Us

On Differing Views

I know many people don’t share my views and that is okay. I don’t expect anyone to think like I think. I do hope to make people think whether they agree with me or not and that is really my only purpose. I know many people who have expressed views counter to mine and have expressed them rationally and thoughtfully and those views are every bit as valid as my own and they force me to walk through my own argument for why I think the way I do. I know seldom such debates will change minds, but if we are at least in part open-minded we can better understand each other on that sliver of ground where there is difference between people, because in almost every other regard people are the same.

Glorifying Villainy

If you fly a Confederate Flag you are endorsing Confederate “Values” and the right to own Human Beings as chattel. This is what the Confederacy fought for when they broke from the country, these are Battle Standards flown by those who fought to keep slavery intact. It is not Patriotic to fly the Confederate Flag, it is an act of open rebellion and disrespectful to America. These are the Facts. This is History. The Confederate Flag is the same as the Nazi Flag and the ISIS Flag in that they represent the Evil in People. The Monuments dedicated to Civil War Villains gives Honor to the Evil in People. Should we glorify people who warred to own other people. The Answer is unequivocally emphatically NO.

Proportional Response

Proportional response to an act of terrorism means going after the people who drove the car into the crowd, not blaming the crowd. It is an act of terrorism because it was done to advance the Nazi agenda as a show of force. Deflecting blame in this circumstance is defending Nazis. Proportional response means the KKK and other white supremacists groups go back on the Terrorist Watch List and that we charge those that engage in intimidation tactics. Meaning anyone photographed with a weapon or a shield or a firearm at any of the Alt Right protests like the one in Charlottesville. This is arming for conflict not peaceful protest and it’s object is to intimidate and cause terror. This is not freedom of speech, this is threatening behavior and should have legal repercussions. Proportional response demands we go after these Nazis with the same vigor as our forefathers who are no doubt rolling in their graves now that Nazis openly march in America and the President declares them lawful despite the threatening behavior these Nazis displayed for days. Proportional response demands that if you send the National Guard to deal with Native Americans burning sage and praying you send in the whole fucking army to deal with these bastards.

I’m gonna get political

Ask yourself why Trump doesn’t spend an iota of the energy denouncing the KKK or white supremacy or Nazis as he does attacking the Fake News. Last I checked, the Fake News wasn’t killing Americans in acts of Domestic Terrorism. Nope, these groups have been taken off the Terrorist Watchlist and a new list is being composed of all that oppose Trump. Ask yourself what all this really means. Also Trump hasn’t denounced David Duke’s comments after recent events when the former grand pubba of the KKK basically said that it was only the beginning of fulfilling Trump’s promise to Make America Great Again. Quite frankly the president has been absolutely disgustingly impotent when it comes to tackling the Klan. The guy is a gutless wimp, a loudmouth lying blowhard and a retarded daughter fucking piece of shit.

The Un-Entitled

Get this straight,
In the US Healthcare is not a Right
It is an entitlement
And the entitlement is determined along economic lines
This entitlement creates a second class of citizen
The swath of people who cannot afford such entitlements
As seeing a doctor when they have a chronic cough
Or when they pull a muscle at work
Or when they fell down the stairs that one time they were drunk and stupid
Let alone afford their blood pressure medication
Or the baby aspirin that might keep a stroke or heart attack at bay.
Some people just aren’t entitled to those things
They can’t afford to get sick and miss work,
Let alone afford the care to get better
And so they suffer and continue to suffer
And so it shall be for the foreseeable future

The Good King

There once was a King and he was just,
He rebuilt kingdom and peoples trust,
Forging a democratic nation,
He listened to his population,
Holding court beneath oak and elm,
He brought law and order to his realm,
Still his populace was not appeased,
They demanded that the laws be eased,
So the King took some time to reflect,
Struck down all laws by royal edict,
He replaced the many with just one,
This he did with great apprehension,
The people spoke, he bade their command,
One law became law of the land,
The law was “Love and Respect All Things,
People are equal, peasants and Kings.”
Once again the people were not pleased,
Complaints were coughed and protests were wheezed,
“How does this law pertain to chattel?”
The people mooed like stupid cattle,
Reinstating old laws and adding more,
With iron fist enforced them o’er,
By populace King had been schooled,
People don’t want democracy, they want to be ruled!
