From Rags to Rags

Standing at the bottom the climb begins

To go from base to summit

Rung by rung up the rickety ladder

Until one snaps and starts the downward plummet

Broke, but unbent once again attempt the ascent

Chasing some elusive fable

After each fall getting back up

Until one is no longer able

    1. Thank you kindly, really I meant it as an allegory for the struggle to rise from poverty in a system that is designed to keep the poor poor.
